"Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time"

On 31st July 2011 I will start to walk from Land's End and I plan to arrive at John O'Groats some time near the end of September.

The plan is to walk 20 miles per day on average, have one day rest per week, sleep in a tent Monday to Friday night then bed & breakfast on Saturday and Sunday nights. I will start the walk with my brother Darren for the first few days after that the plan is to walk solo.

The "How did it come to this?" page gives fairly in depth reasons for me doing this walk but in short the idea came about because it sounded like something fun to do. I then thought it wise to do the walk for a further reason other than 'because I wanted to' and I decided to walk for Multi-System Atrophy. I set up a Justgiving page for MSA which people have been kindly donating to. If you would still like to donate to the MSA Trust please follow the previous link. However, all was set to go until I found out some very serious news...

Richard Plummer is my Sister-in-laws brother. In short he was involved in a motorcycle accident in Bali and is in a coma (at the time of writing this). I have decided to change the focus of this walk to bring attention to Richard's plight.

So far fund raising is going well but there is still a huge mountain to climb so I would dearly like anyone who would like to sponsor me for doing this walk to do it for Richards Appeal.
